Types Of Nuts

A nut is a component used to securely fasten mechanical equipment together. Through the internal threads, a nut and a bolt of identical specifications can be joined; for example, an M4-P0.7 nut can only be paired with a bolt from the M4-P0.7 series (in this designation, M4 indicates that the nut's inner diameter is approximately 4mm, while 0.7 indicates that the pitch-the distance between two adjacent threads-is 0.7mm). The same principle applies to US-standard products; for instance, a 1/4-20 nut can only be paired with a 1/4-20 bolt (where 1/4 indicates an inner diameter of approximately 0.25 inches, and 20 indicates a thread count of 20 threads per inch).
