Selection of Gasket Materials

Mar 17, 2026 Leave a message

Rubber gaskets are typically manufactured from materials such as NBR (Nitrile Rubber), SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber), HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber), EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), Silicone, Viton (Fluorocarbon Rubber), CR (Neoprene), and FFKM (Perfluororubber).

Among these options, NBR is the most widely utilized material for rubber gaskets, offering the highest cost-performance ratio. Conversely, FFKM gaskets are generally reserved for highly advanced applications-such as in the aerospace and rocketry sectors-due to their substantial cost; however, their exceptional performance capabilities often surpass those of many metal materials.
